As a step to preserve the long-lost arts of heritage jewelry-making, and provide livelihoods to the Indian craftspeople while rooting and embracing the modern design aesthetic has led to the journey of Kantika Jewels.

1. All our jewelry is handcrafted and thus needs to be handled delicately. Some stones are prone to breakage if dropped or dealt with recklessly. Avoid wearing jewelry during physical activities like moving, running etc as that could cause scratches or breakage.

2. Always store all your jewelry in a dry place away from humidity, moisture and extreme temperatures in its own box or pouch to prevent scratching, chipping and entanglement especially those that are heavily strung in beads or pearls.

Commercially available jewelry boxes are not recommended for storage as they contain chemical adhesives that cause discoloration and blackening.

Your jewelry's best buddy is a plastic box packed with cotton fabric and bubble wrap.

3. Do not use liquid cleaners on any of your jewelry.

4. Never use detergent, soap, toothpaste etc to clean your jewelry. Kindly try to avoid your jewelry coming in contact with water especially soaps as soap particles may become lodged in stone settings and crevices. Soaps can also leave a film over metal and stones, creating a dull appearance. Harsh soaps and detergents could completely tarnish the product leaving no scope of replenishment.

5. All Kantika silver jewelry is hand polished before sale. When exposed to the atmosphere, all metals especially silver are prone to oxidation and consequent tarnishing. We advise that gentle rubbing with a cotton cloth, after wearing, will restore the original brilliance of the surface, if any grooming products have layered over the part that sticks to the skin. It is essential to do that before storing as the fumes and chemicals, when stored with the product, can lead to blackening or dullness.

Please note all our products are handcrafted and curated by traditional artisans in India, resulting in each product being unique yet slightly different in their own form. All our products are made on order and handmade exclusively for you by our artisans who have been practicing jewelry making for years. We ensure all our products go through quality control before shipping.

It is crucial to understand that all earrings, especially screw post earrings, are subject to friction as and when we perform quality checks before shipment. In this activity, it is observed that the screw loses some amount of plating.

However, kindly note that this is an important step as we want it to be easy for the consumer to wear as and when they receive the order.
